How Sunlight, Mitochondria, and Quantum Biology Are Expanding Our Understanding of Health
This week on The Science and Experience of Energy, we reflected on how our environment and quantum-scale physics may help us better understand our health.
Our bodies are not sealed off from the external world. From sunlight reaching our tissues to quantum-scale events inside our cells, health is shaped by physical processes that span the very large and the very small.
The first piece examines the emerging science linking sunlight, mitochondria, and health. We discuss how red and near-infrared wavelengths may act as biological inputs, influencing mitochondrial function, cellular regulation, and our relationship with the natural light environment.
The second piece reflects on the 2026 Quantum Biology Forum and what it means for the future of health. We explore how quantum biology is helping us ask more precise questions about electrons, photons, fields, mitochondria, and whether quantum-scale processes contribute to how living systems sense, regulate, and transform energy.
The human body is not only biochemical, but an energetic, physical system deeply connected to the environment.
If these ideas resonate with you, we would love to hear your reflections in the comments.
Thank you for being part of this growing, interconnected community.
With love,
