Understanding Energy Through Biophysical and Lived Experience Lenses
WEEKLY DIGEST
Our latests posts on The Science and Experience of Energy (TSEE) shed light on the links between energy and health from two very different perspectives.
In our first piece, Nirosha J. Murugan provides a little tutorial on the biophysics of energy. Come meet some special physicists who’ve helped us understand the energetics of life! New opportunities for diagnostics and therapeutics emerge.
Our second piece features guest author Robin Lanzi, a scientist and mother who shares how a rare mitochondrial condition has affected her family. Robin writes beautifully how the energetics of stress has impacted their lives.
We’re also delighted to share that our TSEE community has reached some meaningful milestones: over 6,000 subscribers and over 100,000 article views! We are excited to celebrate the growth of the this community with all of you. As part of the growth and evolution of TSEE, you may notice that the Substack now has a new domain name: tseenergy.substack.com. We’ll still be sharing the same kinds of content about research on energy, how the science is being done, and what it means for our everyday experiences.
Thank you for reading and joining us on this journey.
With gratitude,
Martin
What We Miss When We Study Only Molecules
Energy has been a central concept in physics for over a century. In biology and medicine, it is everywhere in practice, but it isn’t treated as a unifying framework. The result is that we have fields that are rich in molecular detail, but fragmented when it comes to understanding how our systems behave as a whole.
Living Energy
“Mom, I think I am going blind in my right eye.”
The words were simple. Plain. Almost careful.
For a moment, my brain did not know what to do with them. Time seemed to stretch just enough for me to notice everything at once—the way his voice did not shake, the way the kitchen light hummed above us, the way my body went completely still.
Thanks for reading The Science and Experience of Energy.
Know someone who may be interested in an energetic view of life?
